Join us in learning a different perspective of the Revolutionary War, those of the Native Americans. Joshua Shumak will present a program full of information.
Shumak will examine the casualties associated with Native American involvement in the Revolutionary War, while also highlighting lesser-known histories of South Carolina’s smaller tribes whose contributions and experiences are often overlooked in both national and state narratives of the founding era.
This program is supported by South Carolina Humanities, a not-for-profit organization; inspiring, engaging and enriching South Carolinians with programs on literature, history, culture and heritage. SC Humanities receives funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy demands wisdom.
