Oconee County’s 150th celebration will conclude with the Sesquicentennial Time Capsule Ceremony on Monday, January 28th, 2019. The ceremony, sponsored by Duke Energy, will be held at the Oconee History Museum in Walhalla from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Various items will be displayed and then placed into the time capsule during the ceremony. The public is invited to attend.
Anyone who would like to submit an item for the 100-year time capsule may do so by bringing the item with a Time Capsule Donation Form to the Oconee History Museum before 5pm, Friday, January 25th. Items must represent life in Oconee County as it was in 2018 and be small in size as space in the time capsule is limited. Donors of unused items will be contacted to pick items back up.
The Time Capsule Donation form can be found by CLICKING HERE or at the Oconee History Museum Tuesday – Saturday 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
