Oconee Outdoors Photo Contest

The Oconee Heritage Center Oconee Outdoors photo contest, in conjunction with our ABC’s of Oconee series,is open to photographers of all ages and skill levels (except employees of the OHC and members of the Board of Directors).

WHAT TO ENTER

We are looking for striking photographs of outdoor life that exhibit the exquisite character of the Oconee County.  All photographs must be taken of views in Oconee County.

All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared.  Photographs that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified.  NO PHOTOSHOPPING!!  Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single “High Dynamic Range” image are acceptable.  We request that no watermarks should be on the photograph.

HOW TO ENTER

You must submit an 8×10 dry mounted copy of your photograph and a digital copy.  Staples and the UPS store offer dry mounting services at an affordable price.  You will receive your photograph back at the end of the exhibition period.  You must bring the photograph to the Oconee Heritage Center, 123 Brown’s Square Dr., Walhalla, SC before the submission deadline.  You will have to fill out a form with your submission.

JUDGING

Judging will take place July 28th through August 1st.  Entries will be exhibited in the museum and online through Facebook to be judged by the public.  The entry with the most votes wins.  

The winning photographer will receive a generous prize (TBA).  Second and Third place entries will receive a ribbon.  The Oconee Heritage Center maintains the temporary rights to the photographs and can use them in publicity campaigns.

DEADLINE

All entries must be received by July 24, 2015 by 5pm.  Any entries received after the deadline will be disqualified.
